Olofsdal, Mariehöjd or Marielund?

No matter what you want to call the borough, Språkskolan is located at Skärvstensgatan 6 and Språkförskolan at Skärvstensgatan 8, midway between Mariehem and Nydalahöjd. You can reach us by bus, bike, car or walking.

Bus to Språkskolan

The easiest way is to take Ultrabuss line 2 and get off at the Istidsgatan stop, right next to Språkskolan. You can also take line 1 or 7, both of which stop at Mariehem’s center, about 350 meters walk from us.

Fundamental values

The foundation of a safe and tolerant atmosphere is structure. That is why we place great emphasis on creating routines for a safe school environment. We work with our fundamental values every week together with our pupils. The work is adapted to the needs of the class. The Security Team (Trygghetsteamet) works actively according to our Security Plan (Trygghetsplan). We are a smaller and familiar school, which we believe contributes to a more safe and secure environment.

Languages

We work a lot with English, and from grade 4 the pupils will choose another language to study from the ones they have tried during primary school; French, Spanish or German. We attach great importance to communication, both verbally, in writing and digitally.

Language

Språkskolan has a unique profile. In addition to Swedish as the language of instruction, we give the students very good knowledge of English. They also read German, French or Spanish at the beginner or continuation level.

Communication

To practice communication and raise your self-confidence is important. Therefore, the students practice expressing themselves in different ways. Everyone is given the opportunity to express themselves and to encourage each other to dare to do the same, in a safe and permissive environment.

Various ways of learning

Both brain halves should be stimulated and lead to a more fun and effective way of learning. Therefore, we work both practically and theoretically by experimenting and analyzing. We make study visits in the community, have guest lecturers and collaborate with the university.

Science studies

In addition to language, media and communication, we also focus on science studies, where we have a laboratory approach to stimulate the student’s interest!

Vision

At Språkskolan we want to help the students develop into independent people with a good self-image and who can and dare to communicate with their fellow humans in a meaningful way. We want to serve as a springboard for our students so that they can take advantage of all future possibilities.
